Employees also receive bonuses of up to $1,000 for completing key professional accreditations.
- An employee‑referral program offering up to $1,000 per successful hire, along with numerous team‑building and social initiatives.
- Our annual Lee Nichols Award honours employees who exemplify our SITE values and set the standard for leadership across the organization.
Commitment to Well‑Being and Financial Security:
- We realize people have differing financial objectives and we look to support them through flexible work arrangements; matching RSP / TFSA / Student Loan Repayment / Mortgage Repayment Program program; employer‑paid health premiums up to 50%; 5 Wellness Days per year; up to $2,000 annually for mental wellness supports; an EFAP program; maternity top‑ups; and generous vacation entitlements.
Strong HSE Culture and Training:
- Safety is our foundation. We prioritize robust HSE programs, ongoing training, and continuous improvement processes to ensure each member of our team goes home safely every day.
Employee Owned:
- Terracon is proudly employee-owned and currently in its third generation of employee ownership.
With offices in Calgary, Fort McMurray, Leduc and Prince George and operating across major projects sites throughout Western Canada and the North, Terracon continues to grow sustainably while maintaining a close‑knit culture where people can truly build meaningful, long-term career-life partnerships.
“Being named one of Alberta’s Top Employers for 2026 is a testament to our people,” said Terracon's President, Jake Rubenstein. “Our employees are the heart of our company, and this recognition reflects their dedication to excellence, safety, and supporting one another. We are incredibly proud of all they do. We congratulate all the winners this year who share our vision of creating amazing workplaces."

As Terracon heads into 2025, we are pleased to make a significant leadership announcement about our Board of Directors.
After a 42 year tenure as Chair of the Board of Directors, Lee Nichols has decided to transition from this role. His dedicated leadership and vision has been instrumental in shaping Terracon into the thriving organization it is today. We are deeply grateful for his countless contributions and thrilled that he will remain an active member of the Board of Directors and a Senior Technical Advisor, continuing to share his invaluable expertise with staff and clients.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Tara Rihn as the new Chair of the Terracon Board of Directors. A highly respected business leader with extensive executive experience across diverse industries, Tara has served as a valued member of our Board as well as a past Vice President at Terracon. Tara brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic insight to this pivotal role, and her proven ability to drive growth and navigate complex business landscapes will be essential as we continue to advance our strategic objectives.
Finally, this has been a pivotal period in our corporate structure. Our Ownership Team has increased their current holdings and completed the acquisition of Lee's remaining ownership stake. Our 18 Employee-Owners represent Terracon's 3rd generation of ownership over our 42 history, which is a remarkable achievement in our industry.
We're incredibly optimistic about Terracon's future and are well positioned for continued growth.
