As Director of Mine Geotechnical Engineering and Sector Lead for Mining, Roland Tosney provides executive-level technical guidance and strategic oversight for mining and resource sector projects. He plays a key role in securities exchange filings, feasibility studies, permitting, and regulatory compliance, and is routinely engaged across all project stages, from exploration and development to operation and closure. His leadership drives improvements in productivity, safety, and business outcomes for clients across Canada and globally.
Roland brings extensive experience in practical underground and surface rock mechanics, ground control engineering, geotechnical design, hydrogeology, instrumentation, and geo-construction. He is also highly involved in safety investigations, technical training, and field engineering support. Roland holds a Bachelor of Geological Engineering, an M.Sc. in Mine Geotechnical Engineering, and is a registered Professional Engineer across multiple jurisdictions in Canada.
Outside of work, Roland enjoys the outdoors and spending time playing, coaching, and watching sports with his four sons.
