Civil Technologist

The Role:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced and entrepreneurial individual to join our growing team as a Civil Technologist for a variety of projects based in Fort McMurray, Alberta. You’ll be able to apply your experience in soils engineering, drill monitoring and soil description, construction monitoring, QA/QC monitoring techniques, site investigations, foundation inspections, soils and concrete lab testing for a variety of clients.  This is a field based project positon, including possible mobile soils and/or concrete lab testing, with varying work locations and schedules which requires close attention to safety and excellent verbal and written communication skills. These temporary positions are located in Fort McMurray and would require relocation for the duration of the contract. These are NOT fly-in/fly-out positions.

You will take ownership over project execution including safety and quality performance.  This includes the prudent monitoring and evaluation of project milestones and costs.  You must develop a rapport with new and existing clients by effectively communicating the superior service and results that our teams provide.

CET Co-op Students

We are currently looking for Civil Engineering Technologist Co-op Students to join our team for 4 & 8 month terms beginning in May 2017. We will begin recruiting for these roles in January and February of 2017, Please submit your application today!

The Role:

Co-op students at Terracon may be exposed to a variety of different tasks and responsibilities. Students will gain field experience in soils engineering, drill monitoring and construction monitoring, QA/QC monitoring techniques, site investigations, foundation inspections and general soils testing. Students will work on oil sand sites or in the laboratory. The work environment includes an open pit mine which requires close attention to safety and excellent verbal communication skills.

Terracon Co-op Students take ownership over project execution and financial performance.  This includes the prudent monitoring and evaluation of project milestones and costs.  They must develop a rapport with new and existing clients by effectively communicating the superior service and results that our teams provide.

These roles will report to an Operations Manager, as well as, the assigned Project Manager. These opportunities are based in Fort McMurray Alberta and will require relocation for the duration of the co-op assignment. Company housing is not provided. The work schedule is a rotational schedule of shift work; days, nights, weekends and holidays will be included.
